Mobile app development
Mobile apps for iOS and Android from a single React Native codebase: design, API integration, app store release and maintenance.
If your business needs an app that reaches customers, field teams or members on their phones, I build it for iOS and Android from a single React Native codebase. I'm Berke Özyaşar. I have built apps for logistics companies and clubs as client projects, as well as apps for our own products, all live on the App Store and Google Play. I also have apps in the tools, games and communication categories on my own Google Play account.
Who it's for
- Logistics and transport companies that want to give customers shipment tracking and a communication channel
- Companies that want field teams to log records on their phones instead of on paper and in Excel
- Clubs and communities that want an events, chat and announcements app for their members
- Startups that want to turn an idea into a subscription-based mobile product
What's included
- Design of screen flows and the user interface
- An iOS and Android app built with React Native
- Connection to your existing system (REST API, ASP.NET Core, PHP), or a new API and admin panel if needed
- Push notifications, maps and live location, barcode scanning with the camera, in-app subscriptions
- An offline-first data layer for apps that have to work where there is no internet
- App Store and Google Play listing copy, the review process and release
- Post-launch version updates and error monitoring
How I work
1. Scope
In our first conversation we talk about who will do which job on their phone, and under what conditions. From that I put together a screen list and a prioritized scope for the first version.
2. Development and test builds
I get the main flows running on real devices early. Throughout development I share regular builds via TestFlight and Google Play internal testing, so feedback comes from the working app rather than from screenshots.
3. Release
Privacy policies, permission descriptions, a demo account for review and an account deletion path are the details that delay a launch most often, so I plan for them from the start. For client projects the app is usually published on the client's own developer account, so the brand and the account stay with the company.
4. Maintenance
iOS and Android ship new versions every year, and the stores keep updating their technical requirements. We plan post-launch updates and new features together.
Technology
React Native, JavaScript and TypeScript, React Navigation, push notification services, map and location libraries, camera and OCR with react-native-vision-camera, and on-device local data storage. On the server side I work with PHP, Node.js or existing ASP.NET Core APIs.
Related projects
Buzmavi and Mitlog are tracking and communication apps I built for the customers of logistics companies. For our client Skymar I built a full package made up of a website, an iOS and Android app and the backend; the app offers shipment tracking, invoices, chat with a customer representative and push notifications. The H.O.G. İzmir Chapter app has ride plans, routes on a map, live location and group chat. Şantiyepro is our own product, with 56 modules and full offline support. Among my personal projects, Offline Whisperer is a voice translator and MetroVerse is a metro simulation set in procedurally generated cities.
