Av-Nur Uluslararası Taşımacılık is an Istanbul-based logistics company. It provides road, air, sea and intermodal freight as well as customs clearance on routes to Europe (Italy in particular), the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Russia. I, Berke Özyaşar, built the corporate website and the panel that manages it for our client Av-Nur. The site is live at www.av-nur.com.

The need

Italy is the company's flagship route, and some of its customers and partners are abroad. That meant the site had to work in Turkish, English and Italian, collect quote requests together with cargo details, and let the company update the content itself.

What the site includes

  • Service pages for air freight, sea freight, road freight, warehousing and customs clearance.
  • Online quote request: a form that asks for the origin and destination countries, cargo type (project cargo, out-of-gauge, ADR/IMDG, cold chain, FCL/LCL), weight, volume, number of packages and mode of transport.
  • An international network page describing the countries and industries served, plus references and a careers application.
  • Databank: a CBM calculator and an Incoterms 2023 guide.
  • News: announcements from the International Transporters' Association (UND) are fetched automatically, cached and displayed on the site's own pages.
  • A company documents page, newsletter sign-up and a WhatsApp contact button.

The admin panel

Instead of using an off-the-shelf CMS, I wrote an admin panel built specifically for the site. Page content, the menu, homepage slides, news and documents are edited from the panel; translation strings for all three languages and site settings are managed there too. Submissions from the contact, quote and careers forms are listed in the panel. The login screen is protected with an attempt limit, and the panel is only accessible over HTTPS.

Technical approach

The site runs on ASP.NET Web Forms (.NET Framework 4.7.2) on IIS, with content stored in JSON files rather than a database. Form notifications are sent by email over SMTP, and the pages include Schema.org structured data and a sitemap. For my other work in the logistics sector, see the Skymar and MGT France projects; for corporate website needs, take a look at the web development page.
