Block Forge
Neon block puzzle game
A 99-level, against-the-clock puzzle game where you drop blocks into columns on an 8×12 board to build target shapes.

Block Forge is a neon-styled puzzle game where you build target shapes by dropping blocks into columns one at a time. It is played on an 8×12 board and has 99 levels. I, Berke Özyaşar, built the game with React Native as a personal project and published it on Google Play.
How to play
The player taps one of the columns numbered 1 to 8 to drop a block, and gravity pulls it to the bottom. The goal is to build the target shape shown on screen. If the placement matches one of the target's valid rotations, the shape locks permanently onto the board; if not, the blocks burn and the game moves on to a new shape. A level is complete when all 96 cells of the board are filled.
99 levels against the clock
- 30 seconds per shape at level 1
- 10 seconds at level 20
- 7 seconds at level 50
- Just 2 seconds at level 99
Each level gives a little less time than the one before, so the early levels leave room to learn the rules while the last ones demand real speed and focus. As the clock shrinks, the game turns into a reflex test of rotating the shape in your head and finding the right column order fast.
Technical approach
I built the game with React Native and created the neon look with brightly colored blocks on a dark background. The most interesting part was the shape-matching logic: the pattern formed by the player's blocks has to be compared against every valid rotation of the target shape. On top of that, the gravity and locking rules had to feel fair and predictable to the player, even as time ran short.
My other games built with React Native are MetroVerse and Airborne Aviator. For mobile projects, take a look at the mobile app development page.
Status
Block Forge is live on Google Play for Android.
