HATKO Solar is the solar energy brand of the HATKO Group of Companies. At its facility in Elazığ, Turkey, it manufactures PV junction boxes, connectors and cable solutions for solar panel manufacturers. I, Berke Özyaşar, built the corporate product website and the panel that manages it for our client HATKO Solar. The site is live at hatkosolar.com.tr.

The need

The site's audience is panel manufacturers in Turkey and abroad. When these buyers evaluate a supplier, they look first at technical data, certifications and manufacturing capabilities. So the site had to present this information in an organized way, be readable in several languages, and let the company's own team update the content without needing a developer.

What the site includes

  • Four languages: Turkish, English, Chinese and German, with hreflang tags on every page.
  • Product pages: technical specifications and certification details for the S4xy PV Junction Box, the C2xyz PV Connector and the Dust Cap.
  • Certificates: documents appear blurred in the preview; to see them in full, visitors are asked for their company, name and email address.
  • Documentation center: a PDF download page for brochures, crimping tables, certificates, declarations and company policies.
  • Manufacturing, quality control and technology pages, news, references and a promotional film.
  • A quote request form that can be opened from many places across the site.
  • HATKO Assistant: a chat window that answers questions about products, certificates and quotes using a keyword-based knowledge base. Questions it cannot answer are sent to the panel as suggestions.

The admin panel

I wrote an admin panel for the site that does not require a database. The team can change content by clicking on a piece of text or an element in the preview; colors, fonts and homepage sections are also set from the panel. Products, news, certificates, documents, slides and references are managed as separate lists. Translations, image uploads, form messages and password changes are also among the panel's sections. Changes go live for all visitors with "Publish", and if needed, the site can be rolled back to the last published state.

Technical approach

I used PHP on the server side and plain JavaScript on the front end. Because the content is stored in JSON files, the site runs on shared hosting with no extra setup. The panel is protected with session management, CSRF protection and a login attempt limit. For another example of a multilingual corporate site, see the MGT France project; if you have a similar need, take a look at the web development page.
