The H.O.G. İzmir Chapter mobile app is live on the App Store

The mobile app I built for our client H.O.G. İzmir Chapter is now live on the App Store. The app was made exclusively for members of the Harley Owners Group İzmir Chapter and is published under the client's own developer account.

What is in the app

• Rides: Viewing and joining planned rides, exploring routes on a map, and seeing start, rest-stop and end points in advance
• Live location: Recording the route during a ride, with total and personal mileage stats
• Communication: Real-time chat with chapter members, ride-specific group chats, announcements and notifications
• Photos: Sharing ride and event photos in a gallery
• Badges: Earning badges by joining rides and reaching mileage goals

The technical side

I built the app with React Native; the same codebase also powers the Android version, and the app is available on Google Play as well. Because maps, live location and chat all come together, the key concerns in an app like this are requesting location permissions clearly and understandably, and sending notifications only for events that really matter.
